According to the SHRM 2009 Benefits Survey:
Because of the recent economic events, 46% of employees are taking a greater interest in understanding the benefits they receive through the workplace. With employees now paying more attention to these benefits, there is an opportunity for organizations to help a more engaged workforce fully understand all of their options and the true value of their benefits package.
Employees consistently rate benefits as one of the key factors in employee job satisfaction. It is important for an employee benefits package to be attractive to both current and prospective employees as well as cost-effective, especially in this economic downturn.
The legal needs of your employees, affiliates and/or members may vary and could range from needing simple advice to assistance with estate planning, help with identity theft, adoption, consumer protection, juvenile matters, civil or criminal defense, even representation in arbitration, mediation and trial. Furthermore, many employees that are faced with legal issues do not seek legal help because they are worried about the expense. Give your employees the peace of mind that comes with a TLPP membership.

- TLPP provides freedom of choice, whereby the participant or member may seek legal services from a participating attorney or elect to hire a non-participating attorney.
- Members have direct access to the attorney and their legal issues remain confidential.
- Finally, there are no deductibles, co-pays or waiting periods (with the exception of divorce and modification benefit, where a State issued, standard residency waiting period of 6 months applies. Regardless of how often a member utilizes the Plan’s benefits, the membership rates will not increase.
Why is it important to offer a legal program to my staff?

There are other legal plans out there. How do they differ from TLPP?
- Other legal plans operate on a for-profit, sales quota basis. As a result, these plans generally cost significantly more as they have shareholders to pay and costly overhead to manage.
- Virtually all other plans have co-pays and deductibles as well as lengthy waiting periods and additional fees .
- Many of these legal plans have extensive waiting periods that must be satisfied before the benefits can be utilized or additional fees are required to access other benefits.
- Most of these plans merely offer an initial discount on legal fees or are a lawyer referral program.
- They assign you to an attorney of their choosing. Often, the attorney assigned is located in another state and only handles legal matters via email, fax and telephone, rather than giving the option of face-to-face meetings.
- TLPP is the ONLY legal benefit plan that was created by a State Bar Association and a legislative body.
- TLPP administers the plan directly, handles all enrollment and benefits meetings and provides dedicated member support.
- TLPP is the oldest, largest and most comprehensive legal benefit program in the State of Texas.
