        *Divorce and Modification benefit carries an initial 6 month waiting period prior to coverage availability.
        Some benefits are alotted a predetermined number of hours, while others are open benefits and will be paid upon resolution of the matter.
        Members may utilize more, two, all or even no benefits each Plan Year.
        Pre-existing legal matters are not covered by the Plan.  Members are subject to court filing fees, document fees and other incidental charges.  Refer to the Certificate of Benefits for all exclusions.
    • Preventative Legal Services - In addition to the 14 major legal benefits, members have an added benefit known as Preventative Legal Services or PLS which allows a member to consult with an attorney on issues either not covered in the 14 major legal categories or on issues that are covered but require additional time or action.  Members frequently apply their (4) hours of PLS toward advice, consultation, document preparation and/or review, negotiations and correspondence on matters such as:

    • Unlimited Access to the FREE Legal Helpline - Members may speak with an experienced attorney for general legal advice and consultation Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.

    • Freedom to Choose an Attorney - Members have the freedom to choose from over 900 Participating Panel Attorneys throughout the State. All TLPP Panel Attorneys must remain in good standings with the State Bar of Texas, maintain professional liability insurance and uphold their commitment to excellence for every TLPP Member he or she serves. Members may also seek services from a non-Panel attorney and will be partially reimbursed for the costs of covered legal services up to a specified dollar amount.

    Membership Rates

    Group Plan Rate

    • Single Coverage: $16.25 per month or $185.00 per year
    • Family Coverage: $24.50 per month or $280.00 per year

    Select State Agency Plan Rate

    • Single Coverage: $17.25 per month or $197.00 per year
    • Family Coverage: $25.50 per month or $292.00 per year

    Individual Plan Rate

    • Single Coverage: $17.25 per month or $200.00 per year (plus one-time $10.00 enrollment fee)
    • Family Coverage: $26.00 per month or $300.00 per year  (plus one-time $10.00 enrollment fee)

    Work Related Endorsement Rider

    Select State agencies as well as non-governmental Group Members have elected to add the Work Related Endorsement Rider to their membership as additional legal coverage.

    A Work Related Endorsement Rider appears as the additional dollar attached to both Single and Family Plans.  Such Endorsement is an added benefit, selected by your State Employer and states that TLPP agrees to pay a limited amount of legal fees incurred by TLPP Members arising from the defense of criminal or civil charges alleged to have arisen in connection with your employment, including all hearings or appearances before the court or any authority or agency of Federal, State or municipality in which you are the defendant.
