Q: Can I enroll as an Individual or do I need to be employed or affiliated with an existing Group Member? 

A: TLPP does have an Individual Plan so any Texan, whether employed or affiliated with an existing Group Member or not, is eligible to join.

Q: How do I find a Participating Panel Attorney? 

A:  Finding a Participating Attorney is easy. The TLPP Attorney Finder allows you to find an attorney quickly and efficiently.  The TLPP Attorney Finder is located on the homepage of the TLPP website.  www.TLPP.org.  Members may also feel free to contact a Member Services Specialist for assistance.

Q: Will my dealings with the attorney remain confidential? 

A: Yes. Legal issues discussed with any attorney (Participating and Non Participating) are covered by the Attorney – Client Privilege and are not disclosed to anyone.

Q: Do I only have 4 hours per year of legal help? 

A: No.  Members have an EXTRA 4 hours to use as needed under the Preventative Legal Services benefit. This benefit is separate from other benefits in the Plan. Members have 14 major legal area benefits, of which some are flat benefits and some are partioned by a generous allotment of hours.

Q: If I change jobs or retire do I have to end my TLPP membership?

A: No. Should your new employer not offer TLPP, you could possibly join through an exisiting Group Member such as a credit union or an association. Retirees need TLPP more than ever given the unique legal risks that affect the senior community. You may keep your TLPP membership by joining under the Individual Plan.
